Hanoi to Halong Bay by Public Bus

Public transport is one of the most economic choices to travel to Halong Bay, with tickets price from VND 120,000 to VND 150,000. Buses contain up to 45 seats; however, seats are small and on the long journey of around 4.5 hours each way, the bus stops frequently to drop off and pick up passengers, with the risk that guests will arrive late at Tuan Chau Island.

Passengers will also have to take a taxi from their hotels to the My Dinh Public Bus Station, and then purchase tickets there. The bus would drop off passengers at Bai Chay Public Bus Station and from there, guests will have to take another taxi to reach Tuan Chau International Port where the check-in lounge for the cruise is located.

In general, the public bus is an economic option, but could lead to some unexpected situations for guests.
